Redskins vs. Eagles Preview

After starting the season with a new a QB, and what looked liked a promising team, the Redskins have performed woefully in their last couple of games. Their last lost was to the Carolina Panthers, who are currently one of the worst teams in the league with a 2-7 record.

The Redskins have not looked as bad in offense, the rookie duo of RG3 and Alfred Morris helped the Redskins become the second-ranked rushing attack in the league this season. RG3 leads all QB’s in rushing yards (529), and Alfred Morris, this season has five rushing TDs and 793 rushing yards, making him the 7th highest among all running backs. As a team the Redskins are averaging about 164.6 yards per game, but the offense is not getting much help from the defense. The Redskins defense has continuously performed poorly. They have allowed about 301.7 yards per game, and are currently 30th in the league. If the Redskins expect any favorable result from this game, the defense will have to step up.

In addition to the Redskins defense stepping up, the wide receivers will also need to make good runs, make themselves available and actually hold on the ball. In previous game, the receivers have continuously dropped good passes from RG3, and failed to make good runs. Pierre Garcon is till questionable for today’s game, but the $21 million signing need to begin earning his pay, and hopefully his contract does not turn into another waster like the Redskins did with Haynesworth.
