After being released by the Redskins on August 28 of this year, former TE Chris Cooley has been called back to join the Redskins.  During the summer tryouts, Cooley could not secure a back-up TE behind Fred Davis, but since Fred Davis suffered an injury in the game against the Giants, and could possibly be out for the season, the Redskins has called Cooley back to join the team.  Fred Davis tore his Achilles’ tendon in the Redskins lost against the Giants on Sunday and is expected to be out for the season.

Cooley was drafted in 2004 and was with the Redskins for eight years, during which he was also a two-time Pro Bowler.
