Grossman will Start, Beck to Bench

Coach Shanahan has announced that Rex Grossman will be the starting QB for the Washington Redskins, that is for week 1 against the New York Giants at least. Throughout training camp and preseason, Grossman and Beck have been fighting for the chance to be the Redskins starting QB. For Grossman, this is his second opportunity to realize his dream of being an NFL QB, he had previously struggled to put up a consistent performance with the Chicago Bears. For John Beck, the former 2nd round pick by the Miami Dolphins, he is looking to redeem his poor play as a starter during his rookie season, but let’s not judge him based on those games, he has been in the league for 4 years now and has yet to play in a game since his last start the Dolphins QB in 2007.

The Redskins QB position is in for quite a ride this season, if Grossman can’t perform to Shanahan’s expectations, how long will it be before the Redskins plug John Beck into the starting lineup?
